Great Website Ideas

May 8th, 2009

Over the past couple of days, Sally and I’ve come up with a couple great ideas for web sites.  Since I’m lazy, here they are for you to use

MyAwesomeParkingSpot.com Here’s a place to post pictures of your small triumphs, namely the parking spot right by the front door.  We can spin off a few sister sites (I’m looking at you, cheese burger network) like myluckpenny.com or mynewshoes.com and cryingoversplitmilk.com because sometimes we have to share our little tragedies as well.

YouHadToBeThereItsNotThatFunny.com When you have an experience that you have to share, but can’t find a way to, without killing the joke, share it with us.  We totally understand.  You’re one of us.

So, go fourth and make the world a slightly better place, because we share.

Crean and Crimson

February 21st, 2009

It has been so much fun to cheer for IU again this year.  I feel as though a part of my life that was gone for a long time is finally back.  Just like how Dunkin Donuts closed in Indianapolis and now they are back in town and better than ever.  Anyway, IU’s return into my good graces is completely due to Tom Crean as the new head coach.  First of all, the not cheating thing is really cool – definitely a good quality to have in a coach!  I also love to watch him during the games.  He never stops moving, and it looks as though he is constantly teaching an coaching.  Good for him!  He may not be Bobby, but I can definitely get behind him and cheer for my Hoosiers wholeheartedly again.  For these reasons, I am hereby nominating him for Big Ten Coach of the Year.  Yes, I realize that he has only won one game in the Big Ten at this point.  But on the other hand, he won one game in the Big Ten!  That’s already more than this team was expected to accomplish!  Besides, he has brought the team, the fans, and the school’s reputation farther in just a few months than anyone thought possible.  I really hope he gets the recognition he deserves!

Commercial Commentary

February 2nd, 2009

Welcome to our second annual Commercial Commentary on the Super Bowl.  We are currently fast forwarding our way through the Super Bowl and watching the commercials.  So far, we must admit that we are not overly impressed.  At this point, the Doritos with the crystal ball/snow globe is our favotite  – which is especially cool since it was made by some guys from Indiana.  Stay tuned!  More to come in our comments…

Or I should say, “We voted.”

One Week Later…

September 25th, 2008

It’s date night again, and we made it back to the house without incedent.

I would not recomend accidents to anyone.  They are frought with paperwork, which Sally is handling like a champ despite a pinched nerve.  It seems like each day we’re finding a new place to ache.

That said, we are feeling positive, and like we are definitely starting to mend.  In addition, we’ve been surprised at the out flowing of support from our friends and family.  You guys are awesome.  Thanks.

Now if I could just ditch the rental Kia for a REAL car…

We’ve Had an Eventful Week

September 20th, 2008

First things first.

I\'m not dead yet

So, here’s what happened.  Wednesday night is Date Night ’round these parts.  Sally and I went out for some great dinner at Macaroni Grille and chatted about a video I saw about moral dimensions.  We then stopped by her folks’ house to pick up a video camera I was going to use to record a talk a friend was giving.  On the way home, in addition to discussing roundabouts and harvest moons and the tidal forces at play there-in, we here involved in a head-on collision on a residential street a couple of blocks from home.

Now, Sally and I are recovering.  We’ve seen our doctors and we’re mending.  Hey, I can even type again!  But, my car is toast.

The Front of the Car

The airbags deployed, so we were going at least 8 mph relative to each other at the time.

Airbags

We got out and started calling.  She called 911, I called my folks who live one neighborhood over.  The other driver seemed okay, but she was slow getting out of her car.  Sally and I are hoping she has a quick recovery.

Our phones were flying on the way to the hospital.  I emailed my boss and called a friend.  She called her team-lead to get a sub.

At the hospital, we walked into the emergency room under our own power.  Our families were delightfully underfoot.  Presumably, this is to provide support like a Dr. Scholls insert.  We were exhausted when my folks finally dropped us off that night.

We’ve taken the last two days off and are on the mend.  Sally’s knee and sides are getting better, when she can be reminded to stay off of it.  As I said, I’m typing again, and my arms where way too sore for that for the past two days.  Sally mentioned I’ll not be playing Rock-Band for a while.  Sigh.

I’m kinda bummed my VW is broken, but since we’re not hurt more than we are, we’ll be replacing it with another VW.  Because, “Safe Happens”.  (You might not want to actually watch the video if you have been in a crash recently)

Buckle up out there.  Stay altert and safe.

I can blog from my phone now

Vacation ’08 – Day 5

June 11th, 2008

Last Day!  We started out by doing the Lost Lake trail at Ludington State Park.  It was so nice:

Then we started home.  The best part of our day was when we hit the stay button on our alarm for the evening.  It was good to be back home!
